Dear Pastor and fellow colleague,
I am Steve Pittman the pastor of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC and the pastor of Jake and Joy DeWald. I have personally decided to write to you on their behalf to ask you and your church to consider taking the DeWalds on for monthly support. They are going to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. This area is a gateway to the northwest of the country, which as far as we can tell has no fundamental Baptist influence.
Heritage Hills is sending five couples to this work. We also support each of these couples by 725 dollars a month, which I am stating so you will know that the sending church is fully committed to these missionaries and their mission. If you cannot support the DeWalds at this time, we fully understand. However, they also need to raise outfit and passage which should be at least 30,000 dollars to cover at least 6,000 in visas, 7,000 for a shipping container, 10,000 allowance for an automobile and other costs of the initial move. If you cannot support them, could you take up an offering for their outfit and passage? This couple has been highly involved in the ministry of our church with music, children’s ministries and in personal discipleship of teens. If you would like to contact me for any reason, please call my cell (336-416-2568). Thank you for reading this letter.
Your fellow servant,
Steve Pittman (Jude 24-25)
